After revisiting several different plein air locations it becomes obvious how the setting changes due to the weather or the tide. Because of this I’ve assembled several different series of works having painted plein air at the same location at the same time of day on different days. What is less obvious to the viewer is what I had for breakfast that morning, how well I slept, or if I was hydrated. The little nuances have the ability to affect the choices I made while painting en plein air and shape a painting differently than before. However, the consistency at the same location becomes a constant that anchors the groupings all together.
